It's through them that I look for answers and find them.
In the half-bald, tall, black man walking down Broadway, on his way to the coffee shop where he has had the same early morning chats with the same men for years. The hair that is left on his head is slightly turning gray. His eyes are beginning to change colors too, as he grows older and wiser. In him I found a friend.
In the dark haired, petite, white girl that walks through Barnes and Nobles with thin-framed glasses and a bottle of Evian. Her messenger bag thrown over her shoulder, decorated with activist buttons and wisecracks. In her I found intellect.
In the lanky, brown eyed, left handed, hispanic boy driving his way to school and dropping his siblings off on the way to work down the street at the warehouse. The money goes to his family. In him I found compassion.
In the tall, thin, big-breasted, caucasian, tan, blonde woman. She flaunts her cigarette as she speeds through town in her red sports car. She flirts with all of the men and smiles and giggles when nothing is really all that funny. In her I found humor.
In the butch, fully-built, lesbian news producer. She walks out of the doors of her apartment, on her way to work and kisses her girlfriend "goodbye", just like anyone else kisses their loved one for the day. She takes a cab to work and tips the driver with the 10 dollar bill in her black leather coat. In her I found love.
In the skinny, short, wrinkled japanese man. He takes his shoes off before entering his home. He opens the door for the ladies. He stands at their height, physically and believes he does mentally as well. In him I found respect.
In the world. In the green grass and blue skies. In the orange ball of sun and the white, timid moon. In the childs' voice. In the miracles.
I find answers.
