I wonder if I ever told you how big of a media freak I am. I love television and music. I love celebrities.
One of my most favorite pieces of the media, nowadays is American Idol. Despite the fact that PAULA ABDUL is a judge. And of course...no forgetting Randy or even Simon. I must admit, I like Simon.
But above all that, it reminds everyone how much TALENT there REALLY is in America. There is. Believe it or not.
Even with all the BAD talent they showed on that show (which is a decision that I disagree with-Humor only goes so far).
I must say that I had almost put money down for Frenchie Davis. Her rendition of "You're Gonna Love Me" brought me to the floor.
But, did you know she was disqualified? That's right. Evidentally, she was doing topless pornography and had a criminal record. AHHH! Frenchie! Why did you do this to us? We ALL loved you. I still love you.
Okay, now that that is over...I must move on. I am going for Vanessa Olivarez in the next set of 8. Tara and I love her hair. :) Get this...she listens to Melissa Ferrick! Her favorite female pop artist is Norah Jones. The first concert she went to was Janet Jackson. She loves to sing Joni Mitchell. Her first tape was Cyndi Lauper. This woman is FABULOUS! I'm just hoping she has a voice to go along with her fabulousness. My gaydar tells me she's a lesbian. That makes it even better.
I am happy for Kimberly and Ruben...their place in the Top 10 is well deserved. They are both beautiful people despite what people will say about their weight.
So Anyway, I cannot wait to get down to the Top 10.
This morning, Johnny Cash's video for his cover of Nine Inch Nail's song "Hurt" came on VH1. Oh, could this man be any more wonderful? If I wasn't blow drying my hair and could have heard it more, I know that I would have been in tears. He's such an old old man...I hope he stays at what he's doing for as long as he can. And how cool of him is it do a NIN cover? I guess, even Johnny knows Trent Reznor is a genius.
Before I go on about Trent Reznor...(download "The Day the World Went Away" by NIN)...I will comment on another piece of media...
MTV...Go on and on and on about how you hate MTV or how it's too mainstream or too "evil" or just whatever in the world you can think of. But, I LOVE MTV. You can thank MTV for all of those reality tv shows you see...that's right...MTV started reality television atleast 11 or 12 years ago with the first Real World-New York. Complain all you want about MTV not obiding by it's title...Music Television...but I disagree.
Last night, the new True Life was about adoption. I cried. Yes, I cried. Nicole and her mother...I can only hope that perhaps a reunion like that could take place between my biological mother and I. I can't imagine the feeling she got when she heard her name said over the phone...when she found out that her adoption file had been open since 1996...how amazing!
Maybe someday....
